SEPTEMBER 2017
What's up Windy City!
The end of summer is right around the corner—be sure to check our Labor Day hours below. But no need to feel sad—if you’re anything like me, I’m usually ready for a change around this time. And this year is no different. That, and we have a lot to look forward to as we head into the fall. We’ve got a new AOM that we’re really excited about; an in-house olympic weightlifting meet on the schedule; and some of our crew will be traveling to Minnesota to compete in the Granite Games. Oh yea… we also have the Festivus Games coming up soon (October 14th); Don’t forget to sign-up! All that and more below. Check it out! Keep livin' BIG!

BE A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY: Like so many daily workouts, a Festivus Games competition is built around good people looking to be challenged. With your boxmates, you will sweat, laugh, cheer and compete. No athlete, whether six months in or brand new, will need to scale any of the events. Festivus Games is about capacity more than a high degree of skill. Everyone can row…just how fast? Everyone can deadlift…just how much? 8,000-10,000 athletes will compete worldwide, all on the same day, in this amazing one-day event.

ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
TERI GRISCO
"I had a bit of a rough start at Windy City, I was coming off a break from CrossFit and I was out of shape and really overweight. I felt immediately frustrated that I wasn’t at the level I used to be. I tried to quit a few times but Austin and Sheena were really supportive and encouraged me to keep with it “just a little longer.” Soon I was making it to work outs 4 to 5 days a week and getting back into the swing of things. Joining the Murph training was a huge breakthrough for me, it got me way out of my comfort zone and pushed me in ways I didn’t expect. I feel it's where I really started to make friends and see the progress I’d been needing to see."

GET IN GEAR
Max Rehab
From Coach Sheena: I've been taking Max Rehab for the past 30 days and I'm starting to notice some very positive effects. My muscle soreness has significantly decreased. I'm currently in one of the toughest training cycles I've experienced in awhile and my body keeps surprising me. Where I would normally be sore/achey following high volume deadlifting or back squatting, I actually feel recovered and eager to train the next day. Follow the dosing and make sure to take morning and night!
