Travis was born in Lincoln Square but grew up in the far north suburb of Grayslake. Travis has had an active lifestyle since a young age, playing tee ball, park district basketball, and pee wee football. Playing sports and being outside was an important piece to his health growing up in which video games and tv was limited. This has helped him develop both success in sports and athletics as well as creating long lasting relationships.

In high school, Travis’s main focus outside of being a student turned to football and basketball. He was an all-conference linebacker on his high school football team and junior captain. He stepped away from football senior year to focus on Basketball where he was both All-conference and All-area his junior and senior year.

Travis was lucky enough to play college basketball at Loras College in Dubuque Iowa and was a two year starter and senior captain.

Playing college basketball, he was able to maintain great fitness year round both in healthy conditioning as well as strength gain. However, upon graduation, Travis gained 60 pounds while living a season tray lifestyle. After a Doctor physical and through genetics, Travis was at risk for diabetes. This lead him to the sport of CrossFit which combined both conditioning and strength gain in just an hour out of a day. Using high intensity interval training, he lost 30 pounds in under 4 months and he has been involved in CrossFit since then.
He takes his passion for helping others, passion for connecting to athletes, and his ability to teach strength training and brings it to coaching every day in class.
